Official Opening Ceremony of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering

Our Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, honored us with his participation in the opening ceremony of our faculty's new building. Emphasizing that ITU will take a leading role in the technological projects of our country, the Minister showed great interest in the 34 projects and technology teams led by our university's students. His support and attention to our youth were invaluable, both for contributing to the future of our country and for inspiring our young minds. We extend our gratitude to the Minister and our Rector for their visit and support.

Computer engineering education in Istanbul Technical University started in 1980 as a program under the Department of Control and Computer Engineering Department. In order to keep up with the contemporary developments, Computer Engineering was reshaped as a separate department under the same faculty. All related programs and departments were transferred to the new Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering in 2010.
