Research Areas

The IoT and Embedded Systems Lab focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of intelligent, connected systems by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technologies with embedded computing platforms. The primary objective of the laboratory is to enable real-time data acquisition, processing, and decision-making through scalable, low-latency, and energy-efficient system architectures. Our research encompasses a wide range of domains including sensor networks, cloud, edge, and fog computing, cyber-physical systems, and AI-enabled embedded solutions. We develop end-to-end systems that combine hardware design, communication protocols, and software frameworks to address real-world challenges in areas such as healthcare technologies, smart textiles, smart agriculture, smart city, industrial IoT, and smart environments. In addition to research activities, the laboratory serves as a platform for hands-on education and interdisciplinary collaboration. It aims to equip students and researchers with practical skills in embedded system design, IoT architectures, and system integration, while promoting innovation, sustainability, and responsible technology development.
