The Departments of Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering within the Faculty of Computer and Informatics are the top two programs at our university in terms of student placement according to the national university entrance exam (YKS) results. In addition, despite being established only two years ago, the Cybersecurity Engineering Department has also become a program that attracts top-tier students. With these departments, our faculty conducts education and research activities in the most prioritized areas of the informatics field. We aim for our students to continue becoming competent and sought-after engineers through AI-supported education models.

Alongside research projects carried out in 15 different thematic areas, two newly established project teams and six student clubs ensure active student participation in educational and personal development processes. Our undergraduate and graduate students competing in national and international competitions, together with our distinguished faculty members who have long-term academic impact, form the greatest strength of our faculty.

As a faculty, we continue working to strengthen multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education, to employ academic staff of international standard and competitiveness, to remain a preferred center of education for qualified undergraduate and graduate students, and to enhance the physical infrastructure needed for teaching and learning. With our strengthened infrastructure, we also aim to enrich digitalization in education and advance educational technologies.

Furthermore, we prioritize increasing the number and impact of high-quality scientific research, continuously improving the academic activities and output performance of graduate programs, developing new technologies, projects, and products through strengthened collaboration with public institutions, industry, and civil society organizations, and reinforcing the human resources and infrastructure required for research and development.

In addition to maintaining our leading position at the national level, becoming a faculty that is rapidly recognized and preferred internationally through its scientific research, products, and technological developments—and enhancing the university’s visibility through deeper internationalization efforts—are among our key objectives.

By transferring the faculty’s knowledge and expertise to industry and society, we aim to contribute to economic and social development. To this end, we carry out industry-oriented projects and thesis studies with an increasing number of companies and institutions in diverse fields such as healthcare, finance, textiles, and autonomous systems.

By establishing strong alumni relations, we aim to enhance the faculty’s knowledge base and ensure that our alumni take part in our advisory boards as guiding contributors. In this way, we seek to strengthen connections between our students and graduates, maintain the high demand for our alumni at national and international levels, and support entrepreneurship activities.

As the Faculty of Computer and Informatics at ITU, fully aware of our pioneering role within the university, we will continue to stay dynamic, open to developments in the sector, and consistently in demand. As an entire team, we will keep working to ensure that our students receive a successful, happy, and peaceful education and build meaningful careers.
